Are you new to LinkedIn and having a hard time figuring out what to do with it?

The folks at LinkedIn have put together several excellent tools to help you.

Go to the Learning Center for an overview, site features and user guides.

To build your profile, begin with the New User Starter Guide.

Then move on to the Guide for Job Seekers or Entrepreneurs (or Small Business, Students, Attorneys, Business Development, Consultants, Journalists, Nonprofits or Venture Capital — see the list in the left sidebar when you click on either of the links above).

One of LinkedIn’s tips for completing your profile — “Users with complete profiles are 40 times more likely to receive opportunities through LinkedIn!”

Free webinars are offered weekly on the following topics:

  • LinkedIn 101: The basics of LinkedIn
  • LinkedIn Groups: How to Run a Successful Group
  • LinkedIn Pro: Get the Most Out of Your Premium Account
  • Build your Company Page for Business Success

And free live webinars for job seekers, featuring career and workplace expert Lindsay Pollack, are offered monthly:

Subscribe to the frequently updated LinkedIn blog for the latest news and advice on using LinkedIn to your best advantage.

Think you’re a LinkedIn expert because you’ve been at it for a long time? Things are ever-changing on LinkedIn. We all can benefit from regularly reviewing their continually updated resources.
